Freeing the Catechism in English !!

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England. These loving people are giving away “the layman’s little Bible”—Luther’s Small Catechism— in English as a gift to English-speaking Christianity.

The ELCE has published its Reformation Anniversary Edition of Luther’s Small Catechism. It has distributed it on the internet at TheSmallCatechism.org, saying:

The Small Catechism is presented here as an exposition of the faith of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church, and is a gift of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England to English-speaking Christianity.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of England (ELCE) is a confessional Lutheran Church in England, Scotland and Wales, and a member of the International Lutheran Council (ILC).

The ELCE lists at the first of its six objectives:

1.  Proclamation of the Gospel and the strengthening and establishing  of congregations by the preaching of the Gospel.

By creating and giving away this translation of the Catechism, it certainly is being true to its stated objectives. May the Lord of the Church richly bless each person and the whole synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England.
